John McDaniel BSME

President

 

CFO/COO of a consulting and education group and a business operations consultant. Works with care communities providing mock surveys, community and documentation audits, systems review and recommendations, protocol and policy development, quality improvement, and physical plant/risk management. 

Has extensive and varied experience in assisted living operations, project management, construction, and asset management. Has worked as a project manager for the development of a new assisted living community, and a facilities consultant.

Was a project manager for commercial and residential construction, a general contractor, a professional climbing guide, an operations manager/professional ski patrol director for a ski area, and a safety engineer. 

Holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Portland State University and is a licensed assisted living administrator in the state of Oregon.

 

Pam Matthews BSN RN CHC

Treasurer

 

11+ years of progressive clinical and management experience at KPNW.

20+ years progressive operations experience in management/executive jobs that required extensive knowledge of compliance, regulatory and quality rules of Joint Commission, CMS, Medicaid, agency and professional staff licensure in Oregon and Washington.  

Competent at understanding and interpreting regulatory information and overlap of rules in an operational setting.  Skilled at educating staff and managers re: implementation of requirements.  

Successful completion of multiple Joint, Medicare accreditation, and licensure surveys.

Participation in multiple rules development and advisory committees with Oregon Health Authority; Department of Human Services Senior programs in LTC and Community Based Care settings; and Oregon State Board of Nursing.

Self-employed nurse with more than 20 years of experience working with older adults.

Nurse consultant for adult care homes in the Tri County Portland area. Experience with nursing assessment, nurse delegation and teaching, and adult care home record keeping.

Owns and manages her own adult foster care home since 1994 and has experience with provisions of direct resident care in this setting. 

On the board of Oregon Association of Care Home providers. Active at the State level participating in the Rules Advisory Committee for DHS/APD. Has been active with the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) as part of the advisory group for the proposed rule-drafting process for Standards for Community Based Care Registered Nurse Delegation.

Cynthia McDaniel MSN RN

 

Registered nurse and the CEO of a consulting and education group.  Worked in the field of elder care and assisted living for more than 20 years. Specializes in business operations and clinical consulting. Owned a private practice as a geriatric care manager, been a regional director of operations and clinical operations for senior living companies and held the position of administrator/director of professional service for a home health agency. 

Has been involved in the development and teaching of RN delegation, and actively participating in regulation development since the inception of the community-based care in Oregon. Former assistant professor at Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing where she developed and led the online population-based nursing courses for the RN/BS program, and has authored and published over 100 online courses for community-based care. 

Presents/trains on a variety of subjects, locally and nationally. She is the co-founder of the Gero Leadership Alliance.

Master of Science in Nursing from Gonzaga University. Fellow of the Sigma Theta Tau/John A. Hartford Foundation Geriatric Nursing Leadership Academy.
